On Sunday, May 23, at the end of our 10:45 service, Curtis Baptist Church extended a call to Joe Payton to join our staff team. Joe will serve in our Music Ministry, with a primary focus on leading worship. He will also serve in our youth ministry working with our Middle School students. We look forward to serving together with Joe as he leads in these two vital areas.

Joe is married to Courtney, and they have two sons. Pray for them all as they move from where they are now to Augusta. They are hoping to relocate here in early summer.

Adult Choir and Orchestra:
The Adult Choir and Orchestra consist of men and women varying in ages, in walks of life and in backgrounds. What they all have in common is a passion for God and for leading the body of Christ in true intimate worship. The Adult Choir sings regularly in worship services and musicals on and off the campus of Curtis Baptist.

Senior High Student Choir:
This amazingly talented, high-energy choir is made up of high school students that are members of Curtis Baptist Church and from throughout the community. Their musical repertoire has a diverse array of styles ranging from Salsa to Soulful to Rock and Roll. They interject skits and pantomimes into their program to make Christ more visible. Throughout the years they have traveled, performed and ministered to many groups of people in Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, New Orleans, and New York City.
Senior High Choir rehearses each Sunday at 4:45 PM in the Choir Suite.

Junior High Student Choir:
The Junior High Choir consists of 7th and 8th grade boys and girls who sing regularly in our worship service. This choir is made up of students who sing together through the school year from August to May. Each year the choir tours for 3 - 4 days in late May or early part of June. The Choir has ministered to several audiences in churches and other organizations in Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Choir rehearsal is 4:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoons in the Orchestra Suite.

Adult Praise Team:
The Praise Team assists the worship leader, choir, and orchestra in the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The group consists of auditioned singers who lead in singing congregational worship musicand/or specials. The group rehearsal time is determined through the music office.

Traditional Service Ensemble:
This ensemble consists of men and women who assist the worship leader in leading worship in the 8:15 am worship service. This group consists of auditioned singers who sing worship music and specials. The group rehearsal time is determined through the music office.

Praise Band:
This group of Senior High Students and Adults plays regularly in the Youth and Adult Worship Services on an as needed basis. The members are chosen by audition only.
